With information technology development and Internet technology popularization, people more and more acquaint themselves with electronic commerce and realize the huge influence brought by it to the national economy, business management and individual life. Today with increasingly severe competition and general product differentiation, it is more and more important to realize the personalization in the electronic commerce.Therefore, it is significant for us to research on personalization system in electronic commerce. Combining with the requirements of Midwest Veterinary Distribution Cooperative Limited, Canada, this thesis analyzes personalization system in electronic commerce (MVDC), and researches the key technologies of the personalization system, which includes:(1) Analyze and design the personalization system in MVDC electronic commerce using the UML and related Rational Unified Process.(2) Implement the directed graph-based intelligent sale assistant which can help customers find their favorite products quickly with the artificial intelligence, intelligent agent and rule-based technique. Meanwhile the linked tree list is designed to store the model.(3) Establish the rule-based recommendation system with Jess. This recommendation system can guarantee that the system can efficiently recommend products which customers will need to them.(4) Establish the personalization of MVDC and implement intelligent sale, new product recommendation and relevance product recommendation. Now, the system has been being used in Midwest Veterinary Distribution Cooperative Limited since July, 2006 and running on the safe side. The system achieves good effect in real application.At last, what has been researched is summarized, and possible extensions to the system were briefly discussed.
