Nowadays biology investigation has stepped into the past-genome era, tremendous biological gene data produced in researches need to be analyzed and processed, to deal with these data with the help of computer is considered an important topic in the application of computer in biological research field. To solve the problem of data isomerism existing in biological data organizing and processing, this paper constructed a XBIS (XML-based Bio-data Integration System), and a BCDM (Biology Common Data Model) which was applied to it, to eliminate data isomerism and realize the integration of biological data.Firstly, this paper brief introduced biological data and its features, analyzed all the problems encountered in storing, describing and integrating biological data, and then proposed the topic of this paper: design of a XBIS. The XBIS constructed in this paper mainly consists of WEB isomerism database of data source layer, data wrapper of data query layer, query dissector of data integration layer, XML data wrapper, BCDM, and web server of web service layer.Secondly, this paper emphatically investigated construction of the core components of XBIS: BCDM, put forward the architecture of XML-based BCDM and a detailed plan on how to design its BDML (Biology Data Model Library) and BDMML (Biology Data Model Mirror Library), and also established Common Data Model by using DNA sequencing data as an example, according to the above mentioned program. Finally the feasibility of BCDM was verified in this paper. By using DNA sequence data as the Common Data Model, the rewriting of mapping document on data integration module, query dissection and query result amalgamation is successfully realized. This preliminarily verified that BCDM constructed in this paper can be utilized for integration of biological data.
