VoIP is a technology that is based on IP phone and provides relevant Value-added services. The most outstanding advantage of VoIP is that it can widely adopt Internet and global IP interworking environment. To meet the requirements of new technology and application, the development of VoIP is becoming irresistible, and it has represented new heading of network service.Detections and analysis of VoIP streams will inevitably become more and more important. Since I joined the lab, I have been engaged in the research on VoIP communication, and finished the study work of a project called "Implementation of detection and analysis of a VoIP system". The paper presents the work and results of the project, which are included six chapters. Chapter 1 provides a brief introduction about multimedia network, current development status of today's voice operation in China, and the main work completed in the project. Chapter 2 includes introduction of H.323 network, SIP network and RTP protocol research and some knowledge of character string matching arithmetic and hash arithmetic. In chapter 3, the system architecture, the function modules partition of the VoIP streams detection and analysis system is firstly introduced, then each modules function and the principle of actual implement is detailed described, finally, hash table and system clock design is presented. Chapter 4 mainly describes implementation of every functional module respectively. Macro definitions, core structures and actual function implements are listed. Chapter 5 gives software environment of the project and test results analysis. The test results prove that the software has met the demands of project. Chapter 6 presents some improvement needed for the future.
