Along with the dissemination of internet and the network construction building development of the colleges, most of the colleges has build their own campus network, it has been an important part of informatization of colleges. Campus network building and network communications development has bring huge convenience for colleges go along information transmission by network, but in the actual operation, the facing safety threat will affect the safety of campus network communications, this safety problem has already became indispensable, encrypt data for network communication according to protect network communication is particularly important. How to insure the confidentiality,integrality,applicability,controllability and undeniable of the dates on network has became the major problem of this field.This paper introduces the development situation of the safety network communication at present, and advanced many problems facing in the network communications on campus. PKI is an important kind of technology to solve these safety problems. It gate through to research of PKI technical theory and analyses of campus network, build a digital certificate system based on PKI technology. On the basic of PKI technology research, effect programme are put forward to solve the safety problems of campus network, this programme based on the established campus digital certificate system, designed an campus network communications model based on PKI technology and SSL protocol that can achieve secret communication between client and server, to insure the privacy of communication data between client and server, explicated this system model's main functional module specific actualize, and analysis the key technology and correlation problem while it will be take into consideration at design and actualization.
