Research And Realization Of Personalized Services For Agricultural Search Engine

This research aims to construct a personalized search engine based on the Agricultural SearchEngine "NONG SOU"(www.sdd.net.cn), providing services of both personalized informationrecommendation and personalized information retrieval. In the research process, the popular webdeveloping technology of AJAX, the information retrieval models and technology of personalizedservices were introduced to solve the three difficult problems of building a personalized system, whichare collecting user data, creating user profile and providing services.The research achievements are as follows:(1) Proposed a solution to the problem of collecting user data based on interactive websitedeveloping technology of AJAX, successfully traced and saved users'actions performedon the homepage of search engine.(2) Proposed a solution to the problem of creating user profile, which is extractinginformation such as keywords from user data collected in step(1).(3) Found connections between information retrieval model and information recommendationmodel, designed recommendation algorithms on combination of user profile in step(2) andclassic retrieval algorithms.(4) Proposed a collaborative solution to the problem of personalized retrieval, designedconcrete algorithm based on user data collected in step(1) and user profile proposed instep(2).(5) At last, designed and implemented the whole personalized search engine system based onSDD search engine of"NONG SOU" and all techniques referred above.The innovations are as follows:(1) The AJAX user tracing technique avoids the weakness of traditional method such asdeveloping special client program for user tracing. The precise and full data collectedmakes a well preparation for later research.(2) The personalized information technique based on collaborative recommendation is also aninnovation, as seldom retrieval system used such method. Its effectiveness and efficiencyare proven by test.
