Ultra-wideband (UWB) communication is a novel communication technology which has great potentials in short-distance wireless communication. The compatibility of UWB communication system with other wireless communication systems is the precondition for UWB communication to find more application. More efforts have been paid to study the interference of UWB communication system. In this disertation, the performance of TH-UWB and DS-UWB communication systems is studied in the presence of narrowband, wideband, pectination interference and other UWB communication system. The analysis and simulation results can provide theoretical guidance for the design and optimizitation of UWB communication systems. In our study of the performance of UWB communication system in the presence of traditional wireless communication systems, Ye's research method in his investigation of UWB communication system interfered by the narrowband wireless system is applied to analyze the impact of narrowband, wideband, and pectination interference on the UWB communication signal spectrum. The performance of UWB communication system is further analyzed for several modulation schemes. Simulation results indicate that the wider the traditional wireless interference band, the closer the carrier frequency to the center frequency of the UWB signal, and the higher the transmitting power, the more serious the impacts on UWB communication system. Moreover, it is demonstrated that the modulation schemes also take effects on the anti-interference performance of UWB communication system. In the study of interference caused by other UWB communication systems, the performance of TH-UWB and DS-UWB communication systems is investigated based on the indoor channel models of IEEE 802.15.3a for dense multipath environments. The simulation results show that both the TH-UWB and the DS-UWB system performance can be improved by increasing pulse period, signal to noise ratio, or the period of PN/TH. The closer two UWB communication systems operate, the more the influence of UWB communication. Generally speaking, the DS-UWB communication system has better anti-interference performance than the TH-UWB communication system.
