In modern information society, electronic business that based on the open network called Internet is becoming more and more popular. So the technology of personal electronic identity verification will be the inevitable direction in the future development of society. Identity verification based on biology character recognition has become a main method because it is not only convenient but also safe and hard to fabricate. The main work of this paper is as follows:Firstly, various popular identity verification technologies are introduced and a compare is made between them from the angle of feasibility, practicability and so on. Later, puts forward on-line signature system as research direction.Secondly, on-line signature hardware system is designed. The hardware system is mainly composed of data collection module, LCD display module, USB communication module and system control module. After testing, the resolution of data collection is 12 bits and the speed achieves above 200dot/s.Thirdly, software realization of USB communication is mainly analyzed in the paper. The software includes USB firmware, driver design and application design. The firmware is based on the USB1.1 protocol, compiled by KeilC and designed in the structure of hierarchy. Among firmware, the protocol layer completes enumeration and configuration of usb device. The main loop layer is responsible for MCU initialization, LCD initialization and signature data transmission or receiving. The driver is established according to WDM model and its regular program can be compiled with a special tool—WindowsDDK. The application program is compiled by VisualBasic6.0 and it finishes real-time display and data conservation of signature Through USB interface. For the sake of efficiency and simplification, the access to usb interface is in the manner of DLL. Although some hardware changes have been done to eliminate disturbance, the EMI problems should be considered in software design.Finally, some corresponding preproceesings has been done to the primitive signature data on PC. The preproceesings include zero point solution, waveform normalization and gray degree transformation. In the process of preprocessings, a lot of dynamic information has been saved. This establishes a basis of the first verification step that based on eigenvalue.
