Binocular vision research is one of the most active branches of computer vision research, including many research aspects such as dual channel video acquisition, dual CCD synchronous movement control, feature extraction, image matching, object localization and depth measurement. This thesis has taken dual channel video acquisition and dual CCD synchronous movement control as the key research contents, mainly containing:Firstly, the component, structure and working principle of the video acquisition system with dual channel are studied based on DM642, and the control of the free switch between the dual channels is implemented by using the GEL language program. Secondly, the hardware structure and working principle of the single CCD movement control system are analyzed based on the RS-232 communication protocol of DM642, and the movement control of eight directions in the tri-dimensional space has been realized for the single EVI-D100P colored CCD camera by using external input keyboard.Thirdly, the structure and working principle of the control system for the dual CCD synchronous movement are analyzed in detail based on DM642. And the implementing method and the computing method of the control command word for the dual CCD synchronous movement is presented. With the help of the DM642 development platform, the synchronous movement of both pitch and orientation in the tri-dimensional space has been realized for the dual CCD composed of two EVI-D100P cameras.
