The Research On Information Superiority Assessment Of C～4ISR System And Its Effects On Warfare

Information superiority is the superiority of acquiring and using information between two opposite sides, which is an important subject in Net Centric Warfare and C4ISR system research. The research on information superiority assessment and its effects on warfare result has important significance to the research of C4ISR system and the mastery of the information, which has become the hotspot and frontier in the military affairs domain.Firstly, this paper describes the definition and essence of information superiority. Based on analyzing the working process of the C4ISR system, the processes of information transformation and information superiority are studied, and the method of measuring the quality of information transformation by means of three measures of information completeness, accuracy, and timeliness is presented.Then, the processes of information transformation in the physical, information, and cognitive domains are studied, and the qualities of these transformations are described through the evaluation measures of information quality quantificationally. By defining situation awareness, a quantitative method of describing individual situation awareness and share situation awareness is presented. The composition of information superiority capability is presented, an assessment model of C4ISR system information superiority is set up and compared with other similar models. The game model of two opposite sides (Red and Blue) is set up, the different contests of C4ISR system are simulated by endowing the game matrixes with different meanings and changing the game conditions.Lastly, the software of information superiority measurement research is developed, and based on this software, the elements which have effects on information superiority are analyzed. The relationship between information superiority and the mastery of the information is discussed. The outcomes of game are collected and analyzed, the effects of information superiority on warfare result are studied, and conclusions are given.
