Research On Mechanism Of Web Service Based Spatial Information Service Description And Discovery

In recent years, with the development of many new industries, there is more and more need of spatial information. With the Web Service technology becomes maturer, many companies and organizations provide their Web Service based spatial information services. There are more and more spatial information services on the net, so how to describe these services effectively according to the features of them, and to make the user to find the services conveniently is a key problem to make full use of the services.The thesis does research on the description and discovery of spatial information services. For the description aspect, based on the brief introduction of related specifications about the classifications for the spatial information services, we propose a method of setting up Ontologies of spatial information services. With the analysis of the descriptive methods of OWL-S ServiceProfile and the OGC Capabilities documents, we propose a method for describing spatial information services based on extended WSDL documents. For the discovery aspect, According to the analysis of the information model of UDDI and the mechanism of advertising Web Services based on WSDL documents, we propose the extending method of the tModel structure in UDDI registry and an arithmetic of Ontology based service matching . According to the methods above, we design the architecture of the service registry for spatial information services, and manifest its running mechanism. Then we realize the prototype of the registry and show several examples to use it.At last, we make a conclusion about the research and give the prospect about future work.
