Image mosaic is the art of constructing scene representation with wide view field by use of image sequences shot from real world. With great academic value and practical application value, now it exerts profound influence on the research and application field of photogrammetry, virtual reality and video processing.It is a kind of difficult problem in image splicing processing that the photos taken with a hand-held camera usually have large perspective distortion, small overlapping, small concentric errors and camera rotations. For it, the classical method of phase correlation is firstly investigated in the thesis. We sum up the algorithm steps to complete the image mosaic on the condition of image translation, revolving, zoom. Combined with the method of transform optimization, it has realized automatic sequence image mosaic.The expansion splicing algorithm still has certain limitation for phase correlation'own invariable attribute. For its defect and limitation, a method of image mosaic based on corner detection is presented that is able to accurately stitch two matching images automatically with the limitation of the photos on any condition of linear transform. It is suitable between any size images. The result from the experiment shows the validity of the algorithm, good stability and high precision.The above-mentioned two methods are for single-perspective image mosaic. In the development of large-scale ship-handing simulator, it needs to carry on large numbers of multi-perspective overlapping image mosaic. In the thesis, a method of multi-perspective image mosaic has been studied on basis of the method of image mosaic based on corner detection. It doesn't need to estimate the depth of every pixel. Many view restructure image synthesis of three dimensional rectification. It has preferably completed multi-perspective image mosaic.Under the illumination condition change, the photos taken have the obvious difference. For it, the methods of image fusion are studied in this thesis. The multi-resolution spine mosaic can cope with ghosting and exposure difference efficiently from illumination change. A new multi-focus image fusion method that combines advantages of color space transform and wavelet transform is proposed. This method reduces the computational load and improves the quality of image fusion. The fusion image is smooth and good visual effect.
