With the rapid development of information technology and internet, it is very easy to save, copy and distribute multimedia content. The problem of original author's copyright protection occurs while we get convenience from this. Fingerprinting, as a new copyright protection technology, receives researchers' attention more and more.Firstly, we introduce the significance, development and theory of fingerprinting technology in a whole, then analyze the features of continual fingerprinting coding schedule and discrete fingerprinting coding schedule. It is found that although C-secure code has a strong anti-collusion ability, the length of code is too long to fulfill the need of reality. Furthermore, collusions can easily compare the difference of the copies and find fingerprinting code. As a result, the fingerprinting code is manipulated and achieve the aim of piracy. If the fingerprinting code words are from continual range, the shortcoming is resolved. But in the continual fingerprinting schedule, the fingerprinting detection is not very efficient. A new detection strategy is suggested to improve detection efficiency. Meanwhile, the fingerprinting system of this article use the human vision model, embed the fingerprinting in the wavelet coefficients to realize the best embedding strength and transparency. In the end, the author simulate a fingerprinting system using Matlab and some kinds of collusion-attack. The experience results prove that the fingerprinting system has a good resistance to collusion attack.
