Ultra-wideband (UWB) pulse communication has characteristics of high system capacity, low power spectral densities, exceptional multi-path immunity, simple structure and low probability of detection.In the Ultra-wideband (UWB) communication systems, based on the restriction of federal communications commission (FCC) emission mask, the methods of designing impulse pulse waveforms is the key of the Ultra-wideband (UWB) communications. In this paper, firstly, we have analyzed and discussed several pulse waveforms of ultra-wide band. Secondly, we have analyzed Gaussian pulse, according to combine different waveforms (diverse shaping factors, diverse spectral moving factors and diverse derivative), we can find a pulse waveform that has good performance. It is full of FCC emission mask and it also has improved the spectral efficiency. But it has some disadvantage, for example, it is very complex to arithmetic and circuit. So, this paper presents a new method: the basis function which the second derivative Gauss pulse have diverse shaping factors and diverse spectral moving factors. According to combine the basis function, we design a new combined pulse. The simulation demonstrate the combination pulse can meet the federal communication committee (FCC) emission mask.
