Rapid and high-precision north-finding technology based on the fiber optic gyroscope not only can provide perfect azimuth benchmark for weapon system beating the target quickly, mobile, and precisely in modern war, but also can provide precise orientation indicator for Min Yong reconnaissance field. Compared to traditional mechanical or electronic gyroscope, Fiber optic gyroscope has many advantages such as fast start-up, wide dynamic range, low-cost, light weight, high sensitivity etc. It is very fit for the research of low-cost, high-precision, small volume north-seeker. The key factor, which affects the FOG north-finding system'precise and rapid, is random excursion. Because of limited level of FOG study or manufacture-craftwork, the breakthrough in the hardware is very difficulty in short time. Improve the performance of FOG north-finding system by means of software measure is very important in theory research and project application.Based on FOG practical project research, the key factor which directly affects the north-seeking precision is deeply theoretical analyzed and tested. The main content and contributions of this dissertation are summarized as follows:All kinds of main error source, which affects the use-precision of fiber optic gyroscope and its mechanism of action, is deeply analyzed and generalized. Its distributing characteristic of time domain and frequency domain in the FOG output is brought forward. Static or dynamic output characteristic is practically tested and seriously analyzed. Random error model of FOG is based. Wavelet multi-resolution technique for restraining yawp and measure for making up error is adopted and the use-precision of FOG is improved.The typical north-seeking algorithm and performance index which they can gain is roundly analyzed and summarized. Based on this, the research on single fiber optic gyroscope north-seeking is carried out and corresponding modified dynamic north-seeking scheme is proposed. North-seeking precision and rapid based on single FOG is improved. The study has better effect of project application.For improving the intellectualized and real-time of FOG significance testing and north-seeking, the visual automatic north-finding detection software is designed and written. The software has better visual trait and comes true the automatic test and north-seeking of single FOG. It reduces the man-made distribute and improves the FOG north-seeking precision. It can provide abundant experience for fast north-seeking project application of single gyroscope north-seeker.A lot of static or dynamic north-seeking tests are fulfilled by use of the FOG and equipments in the lab. Results show that many software measures such as signal-filtering, modified north-seeking design, FOG visual automatic north-finding detection software etc, can improve the precision and rapid of FOG north-seeking to a certain extent. It has better technical application value.
