The notions of fuzzy set and rough set were put forward in 1965 and in 1982respectively. Researchers and scholars from all countries of the world have been donelots of researches on them. So, theories about fuzzy set and rough set have beenbecoming mature, and their applications have been becoming abroad and successful.At the same time, their combinations research turns into an important direction.Scholars extended classical models of rough set and fuzzy set and established manyother new fuzzy-rough set models and rough-fuzzy models.This paper about research on mutual complementarity of rough set and fuzzy setis based on the following views: both rough set and fuzzy set deal with knowledgesystems, only from different start points, so there should be relations between them.Also, each has its strong point during dealing with knowledge systems, so thereshould be mutual complementarity between them.The research on rough set and fuzzy set realizes their direct mutualcomplementarity. So, those two models can be used directly during dealing withknowledge issues with a high efficiency and high reliability of knowledge. Maincontents are as following. (1) This paper defines the Equivalent Relation of rough set according to themembership function of fuzzy set, and establishes a fuzzy-rough set model based onthe membership function. So, these two methods can be used to deal with the samequestion of uncertain information.(2)This paper defines membership degree operator of rough sets. For any x∈Uand X(?)U, we can calculate the degree of x by means of the membership degreeoperator, and degree of upper approximation, lower approximation, bound domain ornegative domain in X, respectively. This paper gives a model of rough-fuzzy setbased on the operator.After forming the conclusions about mutual complementarity of rough set andfuzzy set, as an application, I use the theoretical research results to deal with Chinesemedicine. Chinese medicine has accumulated a great deal of experience knowledge,and this knowledge is complex extremely, so it can be dealt with using methods ofthis theory. This paper designs and realizes the algorithm of relative analysis ofSyndrome and Formula of Chinese medicine.
