Development And Implementation Of Intrusion Detection System Based On The Sensor

The openness of the Internet not only brings much convenience to information exchange and interaction but also poses great challenges to information security. And information security has become the key problem of various information systems.Intrusion detection, an active information security mechanism, effectively remedies the defects of those previous security techniques. By establishing a dynamic security loop, we can bring the functions of security mechanism into full play as well as reduce the damages to the system.Owing to the rapid development of computer and network technologies, wide application of distributed computing environment as well as the popularization of mass storage and broadband transfer techniques, the previous host-based centralized intrusion detection can no longer meet the demands of system security. And distributed intrusion detection (DID) is now one of the key issues in the research of intrusion detection and network security.This thesis expounds on the main issues of DID. At the beginning of the paper, the author analyzes the present research status of intrusion detection. After summarizing the existing problems, he puts forward a sensor-based intrusion detection mechanism, whose sensors are distributed in different hosts and network intrusion detection systems. Sensor-based intrusion detection system is composed of control panel and network sensors. And the link between them is undertaking by distributed CORBA middleware, which enables the communication component to be independent logically. And the network sensor is implemented by components, which are superb in distribution and extension.
