With the Development of the 3rd Mobile telecommunication network technology, our lives are by enriched by a variety of wireless applications. Mobile stream media service which is new and promising is born with this development. Meanwhile, Traditional single stereo system is gradually substituted by multi-channel digital audio system of high quality. Compared with other music formats, Ogg Vorbis muti-channel audio coding technology is more suited in future stream media services, widely applied in VOD and Download play services.Ogg Vorbis is open-source audio encoding algorithm with a fine subjective sound quality. It is also in low bit rate transfers, occupying low bandwidth. Compared with the MP3 encoder popular on market, Ogg Vorbis is worth researching for patent-free, higher quality and simpler decoding.This paper particularly discusses the Ogg Vorbis digital audio encoding algorithm. The major work and innovations are as follows:1. Introductions of recent several typical muti-channel audio encoding scheme and each application field, discussion of relative merits among encoding, bit rate and etc.2. Lucubrate Ogg Vorbis audio encoding theory, analyze key technology of Ogg Vorbis. 3. Improve on qsort function; do optimize experiment by choosing other appropriate sort algorithms.4. Based on Ogg Vorbis project 1.0, the encoder speed of operation is increased by 20% by two optimize experiments, performance of encoder is advanced, and have an elementary application.Finally summarize the paper, and indicate the further research direction.
