In wireless communication system, MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) is implemented with multiple transmit antennas and multiple receive antennas. The research has shown that the MIMO technology could provide spatial diversity and spatial multiplexing for wireless communication system. Subsequently, much more attention has been paid to MIMO technology. The precoding technology makes use of some kinds of signal processing methods in the transmitters so that the receiver can be simplified. The System Performance can be advanced with the feed-back channel information, avoiding the complicated decoding algorithms.The effect of correlation coefficients on the channel capacity and the precoding technology are investigated in this thesis. The main contribution in this thesis is described as followed:1. Based on the technical background and the research situation of MIMO system, we learn the signal model of MIMO system and derive the channel capacity. Furthermore, based on the independent Rayleigh fading channel, we investigate the systematic performance of the correlation channel; discuss the effect of correlation coefficients and antenna correlation on the capacity of MIMO channel. The propagation model is investigated for a MIMO fading channel, which is used to discuss the effects of correlation on the channel capacity.2. Especially investigate the structure and implemental theory of the V-BLAST (Vertical-Bell Lab Layered Space-Time) systems and simulate the performance of ZF-V-BLAST MMSE-V-BLAST receiver algorithm and the sorted QR successive interference cancellation on the modified Gram-Schmidt algorithm by MATLAB.3. Based on the space-time linear precoding, we give a system model with linear precoding, investigate the principles and deduce optimal linear transformation .We class the available channel information on the transmitter as the perfect channel information, the channel side information on the transmitter and the limited feedback on the receiver to design the precoding. At last, we simulation and analysis the three instance.
