Design And Implementation Of Performance Data Collection System Based On CMCC Telecom Network Management

The CMCC Telecom Network Management system is a basic support system with a large-scale domination and huge data capacity. In this system, the performance statistic data is in the majority and it comes to 80% of total. After processing these data, the system can analyze the network performance and reassess the network parameters. Furthermore, it would be the guidance on network optimization and planning.So far, a diversity of telecommunication equipment is applied to mobile network owned by CMCC. And the technical specification of that equipment produced by equipment provider cannot put into consistency even the CMCC has built up its group-standard specification. It leads to the situation that the network management department cannot manage all type of telecommunication equipment in centralization to fulfill the goal of centralized management and maintenance.The system of performance Data Access Layer (DAL) is a sub-system of GP-NPM system and it mainly process on performance data collection for GSM network element equipment. Besides, the DAL is the data access layer of the equipments applied into GP-NPM and it also presents itself as the interface of those equipments. Firstly, the DAL invokes the interface module ODBC_COLLECTOR to collect the data from equipment provider, and then to process the conversion, which transforms non-standardized format data into standardized one. The data is transported from the external interface such as ODBC, Q3, FILE and SOCKS which connected with data source to the internal interface, which produced the standardized source data.This system has primary contribution on:(?) Achieve the data collection from variety of equipment providers through configurable management;(?) Implement the group-standardized arithmetic, which applied to network management system owned by each province of CMCC and provide technical support on local specialized arithmetic; (?) Fulfill the centralized management of platform collection;(?) Refine the collection granularity.The CMCC and more than twenty provinces' mobile network management have launched this system with good practice.This article mainly describes the design framework of the performance DAL system and the association between the modules. In detail, it also introduces the technical framework of each module and it's construction, function and implementation methods. Besides, it also illustrates the specialized design and implementation for the interface module, which presents as internal or external interface.
