Research On Frequency Interference In WLAN

In this paper, we discussed the problem of frequency interference in high-density wireless LAN environment, proposed a solution based on the algorithm of Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) and researched the implementation of the algorithm with SNMP-based network management technology.Firstly, the key technical problems of WLAN during its development process were point out and the research background frequency interference in WLAN was offered; then we analyzed MAC layer protocol of IEEE 802.11b standard from the six major areas, which mainly affect system throughput and channel quality. Based on a large number of networks measurements, we provided the modeling analysis of frequency interference and proposed the algorithm of Dynamic Frequency Selection.Secondly, this paper offers the software implementation of the AP management and channel quality measurement, discussed the feasibility of the algorithm's implementation based on wireless network management.Finally, we summarized the achievement we have made, and give some suggestions for further research.
