The Application Of Data Mining Technology In Telecom Network Management System

As the development of network technology, the network management is more and more important. The complication of network elements makes the management of network difficult. Meanwhile, the network economic benefit depends on the efficient management of network. The advanced network management is urgently needed by the clients.Nowadays, the telecom market expands rapidly and the competition is more and more fierce. It is a key element for the telecom operating companies that how to conform and utilize the information resource sufficiently. Although the operating companies could gains a large number of data from network devices and system, it is hard for them to mine out useful information from the huge data storage. It is very important for the companies to get the useful information to improve the quality of service and the utilization ratio.With the data mining related technologies, the telecom operating companies could discovery the potential consumption pattern and behavior of the clients, predict the character of various services and improve the services from passive to initiative. Also, the companies could locate the network faults rapidly, know more about the network performance and the utilization ratio of the system resource and predict the network capability. It helps the companies to distribute the system resource reasonably, improve the quality of service, increase the degree of satisfaction and enhance the competition ability of the companies.This article attempts to introduce the development of data mining, summarizes the application of the main technologies in the network alarm correlation analysis. Our team developed Alarm Correlation Analysis System (TACAS). This system aims to analyze the huge amount of data in telecommunication network, mine the new knowledge, rules and method, improve the quality of service and supply assistant decision-making information to the company.This article also describes the designing and developing process of TACAS, shows the overview of the function and analyze the meaning of this system to the telecom operator. The algorithm integrated in this system is also introduced.
