In the modern time, the Internet is more and more popular. There are a lot of information filled everywhere in the Internet. People can get and share everything with others through network. The Internet plays a more and more important role in people's life. We can read eBooks, listen to music, and watch TV or movies on Internet and so on. At the same time, the pirates come, make a lot of invalid copies and distribute them. So we need to do something to protect authors benefit. The DRM (Digital Right Management) is a kind of technology to make this target come true. DRM is used to manage the use of media contents. The author or bookman can customize the consumption of the media content, such as consume time, count or target systems. And consumer must make use of the content according to the customization.Here we talk about the specification of DRM version 2.0. OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) had released DRM V2.0 in Feb, 2nd, 2004. This version will be used in mobile systems and protects the media contents in mobile devices. In the paper, we talk the architechture, the design and the implementation of DRM. Also the project of encrypting DRM media content is introduced here to show the media content format. This part is absolutely necessary in the DRM system. At the other side, another part callled Right Issuer is discussed in detail. Right Issuer is a key part in DRM which takes in charge of media content encryption, device registration and licences distribution. Right Issuer and device which consumes the media contents consist of the whole system. Right Issuer must back up the devices' information and support licences management too.All above are discussed in detail in the third chapter. At last we described the application of DRM. There are also some shortcoming. DRM can not be used in peer to peer systems now since the media contents and licences are forbiden cutting which collides with the peer to peer mechanism. |
