Along with the development and popularization of the computer and communication network, the dissemination and dealing of the digital audio and video product and all other electronic publications are more and more convenient, but the following pirating activities are also increasingly serious. The intense demand of secure communication and copyright protection of the digital products on the Internet have accelerated the development of information hiding technology. In the national security and the military domain, the applied prospect of information hiding technology is also inestimable. The traditional method of cryptology is that information has been encrypted by itself, but the transmission process of the information is exposed, But information hiding technology has enshroud its transmission process. Therefore, the associated technology of the traditional cryptology and the modern information hiding, may better guarantee information itself and its transmission process secure.This article aiming at the digital image, has mainly discussed the Human Vision System (HVS) and the method of cryptology in the application of the information hiding aspects. The paper first introduces the basic model and characteristic and its main research area and prior developmental direction of the information hiding technology. Then, it recounts the HVS' constitution and main technical specification and characteristic, and has carried on the analysis contrasted to the existing two image quality appraisal's method. In this foundation, it improves and implements the Least Significant Bit (LSB) algorithm in the airspace law. Later, it elaborates the relations between the cryptology and information hiding technology, and brings forward a information hiding strategy based on the cryptology. Finally, the author uses Visual C++.NET technique to realize an image information hiding software system based on the HVS.At the same time, in order to strengthen the reliability of the software, the author also successively uses two different kind of Encryption in the pretreatment stage of the secret information. In the embedment of the information, the hiding algorithm of Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) based on modular arithmetic has been chosen in the frequency law. In this way, it has strengthened the secret carrier in transmission process security.
