At present, the vehicle overloads of our country is extremely common; in some area, nearly all vehicles exist overloading of varying degrees. The vehicle overloads brought large damage to the traffic safety, transporting market, vehicle production and infrastructural facilities. The important means to effectively restrain overloads is to charge by weight, and the key technology of charging by weight is weight in motion. So the research of vehicle weigh-in-motion technology not only has great academic value, but also have bigger social value and economic value.Nowadays, with the maturity of fiber optical sensing technology, fiber grating had been widely applied in controlling and measuring fields. So we select fiber grating as the sense organ for the researching of the vehicle weigh-in-motion system. The main work includes:(1)designing the friendly graphic user interface(GUI) and database system to give deeply foundation for the experiment analysis and the further data analysis;(2)researching the technology of the fiber grating sensory characteristic property and demodulation techniques; then determining the chirped fiberograting as the sense organ, not the fiber bragg grating;(3)analyzing the vehicle dynamic model and researching the infection of libration and velocity to the vehicle weigh-in-motion system; then designing the structure of the vehicle weigh-in-motion system;(4)researching the signal processing technology of weigh in motion system; analyzing the source of yawp and the Empirical mode decomposition arithmetic to process the signal; do the imitate experiment with Matlab;(5)researching the linear characteristic of the sensor and the static demarcate; compare the acquisition data and validate the effect of the Empirical mode decomposition.From the present situation, the system designed by this thesis has greater precision. Of course, the vehicle weight in motion system involves many facet and has many difficulties in weighting. It has great distance to the business application. However, with full principle, reasonable designing structure and appropriate arithmetic, we can believe the vehicle weight in motion system based on fiber grating has great academic value and board application future.
