With the development of infrared imaging, infrared imaging system has been widely used for the fields of civil and military use, such as optical remote sensing, night navigation, target detection, fire control and guidance. Infrared small moving target detection technology, one of the key techniques of infrared imaging system, adopts imaging processing algorithm whose performance is critical for action distance and intelligence of infrared imaging system, to detect target automatically which is under random background and heavy noise. Especially in the field of military, infrared small moving target detection technology holds an important position in advanced weapon system of Occident, including forewarn system of aero plane carrier, infrared searching and tracing system of varies airplanes, infrared imaging guidance missile and warning system of some ground military facilities. It can be said that automatic detection of remote airplane and missile has been the key techniques for imaging guidance, warning system and photo-electricity resist. This paper studies include:(l) infrared image preprocessing the specific methods and techniques; (2) single-frame and multi-frame images of the infrared object segmentation methods and techniques; (3) Based on the Kalman filter small infrared target detection and tracking algorithms.The concrete work includes:(1) Infrared images of properties and small infrared target detection difficult for the analysis summarized infrared images of the principal features for the follow-up work has laid a good foundation in theory.(2) Infrared images on the small goals of the single-frame model; Analysis of the target and background noise characteristics and causes; targeted analysis of the characteristics of both pretreatment methods.(3) The different infrared images background suppression methods of comparison, and reached a different method of application conditions. Ultimately mean filter was used in another Top-Hat filtering method gain signal-to-noise ratio, simple, real-time processing.(4) Infrared Target division, to the pre-processed image segmentation as the starting point. Withing use different segmentation method for image segmentation. Elimination of some of the original image can not be targeted by noise and the background area of the region. After segmentation for future target image, the existence of noise and other interference, it is difficult to use single-frame signal to achieve the goal of reliable detection, Therefore, the use of image sequences next multi-frame the relevant information to achieve the goal of effective testing.(5) Finally, based on Kalman Filtering small infrared target detection and tracking algorithm, target tracking provides a workable solution.
