The modern high-tech war will be the antagonize between system and system. only when various levels sub-system was organically integrated into a whole, which can exert the biggest fighting function. The Tactical Internet is a battlefield network solution in which the existing global wireless correspondence,the computer networks, gateway,subscriber,each kind of broadcasting stations are integrated into a whole. By which the computer can effectively amalgamat each kinds of communication and the network, and the interconnection, intercommunication and interoperation could be realized and to satisfy the request such as the strong mobility, the complex terrain and the inferior environment for military actions.In this article, the first part is mainly about the history and the development of the Tactical Internet. The Tactical Internet technology based on Ad hoc nerworks is a new application of existing computer network technology to the military fields, The network architecture can be divided into three levels, the top level is the wide band data network and wide area network (WAN); the middle level is the backbone data transmission network; the bottom level is the wireless grouping sub-net. The foreign army had achieved biggish accomplishment. In the second part, the concept, the principle and the structure of the firewall are introduced, and also, its application modes and efficiency are analyzed, and the prospect are discussed as well in this article. Linux is always valuable for its economy and high efficiency, and in the article, the characteristics, the work flow and grammar of Iptables/Netfilter-the firewall function module of Linux is described in detail. A firewall is designed and realized based on its TOP structure and its characteristics aiming at regiment level Tactical Internet.The security problem is the foundations of Tactical Internet, and it is also a systematic problem, For the safety of Tactical Internet should be an integrated whole with various technologies and measures. The article finally proposed a Tactical Internet security integration approach aiming at regiment level Tactical Internet, mainly using encryption technology, certified technology, firewall technology, and intrusion detection technology. And, its capabilities could keep the tactical networks from all levels of network security and from potential intrusion and destroy.
