With the rapid development of Internet and electronic commerce, a great deal of pirate andtort exists in Internet content, it is urgent to protect copyright of digital content. But the presenttechnology and system of the digital rights management have an acute shortages of thedistributing mechanism of the digital media content. The problem not only astricts thedistribution of the protected media but also makes the popularization of DRM system difficult,which finally results in the hard development of the trade of digital medias as well as theelectronic business.By making researches on the present technology and system of digital rights managementand P2P, the paper respectively points out some limitations of these two technologies nowadays,making further demonstration that there are requirement and chance for their combination fromthe point of both technology and commerce, and then designs a media content distributionmechanism suitable for DRM system after analyzing several possible models comparatively.The mechanism we design possesses two characteristics:①it uses two-level encryptionmethod and random key generator to ensure that the media content safe when the content isbeing distributed.②using P2P technology to distribute the media content to make the spread ofencrypted media more quickly than before.③About rights control, the system uses a newmethod of structure, distribution and authentication of the licence key, which prevents bothillegal and legal users from getting the licence key.The application of this mechanism will promote a high distribution efficiency of theencrypted media in the whole commerce frame and all of actions in DRM system will be moreeffective than before. The popularization of DRM system will also be more prosperous due to theintroduction of P2P technology.
