Recently, researchers in the chaos science field have gradually focused on the multi-scroll and hyper chaotic attractors, which will have promising application prospect in information science, secure communication and other engineering filed. And now, it is always reported in referenced literature that many kinds of continuous chaotic system are fulfilled by separate analogy circuit device. But very few of them are researched and realized by modern discrete signal process method.At first, we have introduced the background and the course of our research work in chapter 1, and then we have explained the basic concept of chaos in chapter 2. According to our design method of chaotic signal generator, it is necessary to introduce the concept of FPGA and the software development tools in chapter3, which FPGA design requires. Finally, based on the in-depth investigation of relational datum, this paper presents a new way to achieve the chaotic signal generator design on the FPGA platform in last two chapters. This method can help us to generate many kinds of chaotic signal which we need for chaotic secure communication system.It is well known that modern discrete signal process technology aims at discrete system. In order to generate chaotic signal by FPGA, we propose an appropriate discrete and variable proportion transformation to convert the continuous chaotic systems into discrete chaotic systems, which is appropriate for FPGA processing. According to this math transformation, we take the grid Jerk chaotic system as an example to explain how to realize the grid Jerk chaotic system and other typical chaotic systems by using the FPGA technology that we have mentioned above. The experimental result of chaotic system has been shown in the end of this paper.It must be emphasized that this FPGA design way could also be used to design Loren system, Chen system, Lu system, Chua system ,MCK system and other continuous chaotic system except for grid Jerk chaotic system. So we could conclude that this FPGA design method is a relative universal design way. Generally, it is creative to have mentioned the appropriate discrete and variable proportion transformation. And based on this theory, we have fulfilled the multi-scroll chaotic signal generator by using FPGA.
