The embedded video encoding system is widely applied in the multimedia processing domain, and it is the video encoding system that's realized by means of embedded manner. The better network transmission, and even the video decoding are necessary for the complicated application, so the requirement is exigent for the processor. This thesis transplants the uClinux, which is one embedded operating system, on the double-core DSP processor BF561, and the video encoding system is achieved based on the uClinux and this double-core DSP. These are the basic idea of this paper.Firstly, the thesis gives the introduction to the embedded system and the embedded operating system, and then the embedded uClinux is elicited. In addition, the BF561 processor is introduced as the foundation of the latter researching task.Secondly, the paper analyses the startup of the embedded uClinux, and then researches the transplant of the uClinux. Because the video encoding system applies the double-core DSP, the paper does some research to muti-core processor, and it accomplishs the analysis of Linux operating system which surports the SMP architecture. As a result, the foundation of the application will be provided about BF561 that's the double-core DSP.Lastly, the Bootloader and the uClinux are transplanted on the double-core BF561 successfully, and the thesis carrys out the system using the double-core DSP. In addition, The paper researchs the exploiting process about the embedded application.In this thesis, double-core DSP is applied in the video encoding system, and this DSP is one processor based on Micro-Signal Architecture. This encoding system has more advantages over the one using the single-core processor. On the other hand, this system is better than the one using the double-core architecture that contains the MCU and the DSP. To combine the embedded uClinux with the BF561 is a reasonable model to construct the system because the advantages can be applied for both of them, and the integrated video system, which may contains the video encoding, the video decoding and the network function, can be easily achieved in the mutimedia processing.
