The Research And Implementation Of The Model Of Identity Authentication Based On PAM And Security USB Mass Storage Device

With the rapid development of computer technology, identity authentication has become quite an important subject for research. Based on the analysis and research of identity authentication mechanism, in the thesis we use the technology of PAM(Pluggable Authentication Modules) and security USB mass storage device embedded smart card, and design an identity authentication system based on PAM and security USB mass storage device. The main contents are as follows:After the research of the central anthentication mechanism supplied by PAM, the model uses PAM to make the applications separated with certain authentication mechanism, and it makes the authentication mechanism has transparency to the applications. In addition, d(?)e to PAM, the model is all-p(?) and flexible;In the thesis we design and implement the driver of security USB mass storage device under linux. The driver supports the command sets of both the smart card and the USB mass storage device. So the driver is easy to use and all-purpose to common USB mass storage device;We also develop the management program of the authentication. Through the access to the driver of security USB mass storage device, the program implements the two-factor authentication and the mutual authentication between the host and user. That makes our model has higher security.
