With the advance in the fields of acoustic, psychological acoustics, physiological acoustics, great progress have been made in the research of spatial hearing, which reveals the role of HRTF(shortened form for Head Related Transfer Function, its time- -domain representation is known as HRIR: Head Related Impulse Response) in creating VAS(Virtual Acoustic Space). Based on the measured acoustic database, this paper presents our work in the following parts:Introduce the methods for measuring HRTFs in CIPIC(Center for Image Processing and Integrated Computing ) Interface Laboratory in University of California, Davis. and what includes in the CIPIC database. Analyze briefly the contributions of anthropometry in constructing HRTF and the spectral cues to human sound localization. The correlations between anthropometry of subject pairs are also considered.Introduce the principle and the creation of VAS based on HRTF. Present the fast convolution algorithm and multiple buffer technology in creating real time VAS. Point out the limitation and advance of VAS.Analyze the correlations between partly available anthropometry data and maximum Interaural Time Difference, HRTF of some location and the first Principle Component. Approximate the relations among them using linear regression model.Reduce individual differences of HRTF of the same location by linear transform in frequency. For each pair of subjects, an optimal transform factor is computed and the statistical relation between the factor set and anthropometry set is analyzed. |
