With the development of medical technology, digital medical is gradually popularized, medical image is the important proof which doctor diagnosed, but the data quality of medical image is enormous, so it lead to many inconveniences for storage and long-distance transmission. Therefore it is very necessary to compress medical image.This paper mainly discusses lossless compressed arithmetic and loss compressed arithmetic, It puts forward a arithmetic that assure the reconstruction quantity for region of interest and obtain upper compressed ratio. In this paper, It adopts a compressed arithmetic which combined lossless compression with loss compression, It unify under the frame of small wave transformation, it makes lossless compression with interested region and makes loss compression with uninterested region.It can solve the contradiction between compressed ratio and reconstruction image quantity. Under meeting the need of compression efficiency, It obtains better quality in the interested region of reconstruction image.This article programs in VC++6.0, It achieves a arithmetic which medical image makes lossless compression for interested region and loss compression for uninterested region. So it attains a upper compressed ratio and a upper peak signal to noise ratio, PSNR.
