In recent years, with the development of computer network technology, the security question of the network is outstanding day by day too. The intrusion detection systems, as the important point of information security safeguard systems, have attracts many experts pay attention to. And the researching of intrusion detection systems has become one of hot research topics in information security field.The immune system can protect itself successful, recognize known antigen or unknown antigen, protect the human body against a vast variety of foreign infectious. The operating mechanism of intrusion detection systems is naturally similar to the human immune system. The theory that the immune system can protect body from invasion provides a new method to investigating the intellectualized intrusion detection systems. Utilizing the artificial immunity mechanism to solve the shortcoming of the intrusion detection systems has become a front subject in the field of information security research.This dissertation researches the theory of intrusion detection and artificial immunity, analysis the mechanism of artificial immunity, then compare it with intrusion detection system particularly. After research all kinds of immune algorithm, this paper establish a new immune-based model of intrusion detection, which has the characteristics of self-learning, adaptability, distribution and expansibility.
