The H.264 recommendation is a novel video compress criteria at present. H.264 provides higher coding efficiency and "network friendliness" relative to existing standards, and it is still being revised and extended. Following the research and development of H.264, applications and services based on H.264 are being in the ascendant. In China, mobile television, IPTV, video services in 3G treat H.264 as a candidate of video coding specification.Error Concealment technique is a focus of research in the field of video communication. H.264 provides a few of effective tools to reduce the influence of transmission errors. However, H.264 decoder still has to do error concealment when transmission errors have occurred and been detected. Error concealment algorithms against to errors in intra-prediction frame and inter- prediction frame respectively have been added into decoder of JM that is H.264 official software, but their performance is not fine when errors occur in the frame which has scene change. This paper proposes a self-adaptive algorithm which can figure out whether there is scene change and choose to utilize different type of error concealment based on JM algorithms. The experiment results show that the proposed algorithm perform a better object and visual qualities than JM algorithms. Whole-frame loss will happen when a H.264 coding packet loaded by entire data of one frame was lost because of the possibility of packet-loss in wireless communication network. To resolve this problem, this paper proposes an effective frame-loss error concealment algorithm according to the study of other algorithms, and presents the results comparing to the others.Implementation and development of real-time coder is one of hotspots of H.264. This paper describes the transplantation of H.264 codes (C language version) onto DSP using the evaluation hardware platform of TMS320DM642. The simulation results show that transplanted codes make H.264 coder possible to perform real-time operation.
