The network technology develops rapidly since the early 1990s. With the quick popularization of Internet and increasing expansion of the network region, the probability of network's failures is increasing relatively. Because protocols are the nucleus of networks, by means of protocols testing on network productions, the mistakes caused by the procedure of realization of protocols may be discovered, and the reliability of the protocol realization may be enhanced. Therefore, networks, especially Internet, are guaranteed to operate highly efficiently. At present, the protocol testing could not always satisfy the demand of the development of network technology by far. A great deal of network products which are not tested completely (including hardware and software for protocol realization) have been widely used, and it brings the potential threats for the network operation quality. In order to insure the quality, the protocol testing is necessary and extremely important.TD-SCDMA system, as a hotspot of current mobile communication research, whose communication software realization meeting the protocol requirement or not will affect the TD-SCDMA prospect largely, should be necessary to be carried on the special protocol testing, The primary task of this thesis, in terms of a new tool based on TTCN, is to study the techniques to realizing protocol testing for the MM, GMM sub-level TD-PRS operation software realization in TD-SCDMA system.In the development of the TD-SCDMA high layer signaling, because, the CEFSM model is adopted and the SDL language is used to perform the form description to the finite state machine model of protocol. The primary task testing is that a series of sequences testing is produced according to the protocol description, and consistent test for the protocol realization will be completed. The dissertation discusses the finite state machine (formalized model of protocol testing), and SDL (a realization language for the formalized model) is introduced, on detail.The dissertation begins from the theory and method of the protocol testing. The protocol test, which develops from the foundation of software testing, is a kind of functional testing, namely black box testing,. Three kinds of protocol testing are analyzed earnestly: testing for consistency, testing for inter-operation and testing for performance, and testing for consistency is foundation.
