The System of vehicular navigation and location is a branch of the ITS system, also is a high-tech system which integrates wireless location technology, geography information system, modern communication technology and embedded system.Vehicular system receives position information and displays position information real-time in the electronic map. The position information can also be transmitted to the control center to achieve anti-theft function. This paper is derived from the cooperation project of Harbin Institute of Technology Shenzhen Graduate School Communication Engineering Research Center and Hongkong University,we introduce a new positioning solution which combined two types of wireless location technology-GPS satellite positioning and CDMA cellular network positioning,in order to achieve the goal of none-blind,high-precision and high-efficiency.The paper discusses the present development status of wireless location technology and vehicular system, clarifies the importance of developing vehicular system, and study the wireless location technology and the location principle, also analyze each technology's advantages and disadvantages, with these,we brings forward the overall design of GPS/CDMA dual mode location scheme based on microprocessor S3C2410A.Then we introduce the concept of an embedded system, focuse on studying the specific circuit design of terminal various functional modules, and complete the PCB design.Final we detailedly realize the bootloader, and accomplish the embedded Linux kernel porting in our thesis.
