The paper mainly discusses the design and development of shipping management information system for Shanghai Time Shipping co.,LTD to resolve in some problems.And it perfect the data correspondence process between ship and bank.Firstly,The thesis introduced the application of the management information system in the shipping business enterprise, explaining the necessity of Manage information-based of the shipping business enterprise and the huge help of the manage and performance of the information system to the shipping business enterprise.Aimed at a new need in the development of the system, carry on a modification and perfect to the parts of modules of the company management system:the modification of the security-technique department module; the perfect and utility of administration department module,using the workflow technique to redesign the auditing process of administration department and security-technique department modules.In the finance department moldule aspect, the company uses the finance software of the friend, which define a set of exchange a format according to the XML data. in the system, the XML data text file was created in the way of software used for data commutation with the finance software database, carrying out the share of the data. In the supervise and control aspect of the ships, the typhoon forecast function was designed,which uses the technique of the geography information system(GIS) here.The project of combining Inmarsat-Mini-M system and E-mail and the project using in this design are presented in the disuss of the communition.And the stipulation of data communication between ship and bank are simply introduced.A set of own data transport protocols was defined in the past about the communication protocol, adopting text file to carry on the data transfer, which exists a lot of limitations.The method of the improvement drew up the new data communication rules,using the database of the SQL/XML alternation with each other,which assurance the integrity and consistency of data communication,and enhance the speed of data alternation.For the convenience of communication management to customers,a lot of logs and a series of measures to make as perfect or effective as possible in the communicate process.In the end,summing up the experience and lesson of this design of shipping management information system for Shanghai TimeShipping co.,LTD.
