The Research And Implementation Of IP Network Fault Inspecting System

Along with the rapid development of computer networks, global information has become the dominant trend. More and more enterprises and organizations constructed the networks for their important business to improve the effiency and reduce the cost. Meanwhile, how to inspect the devices and links used to find network fault in time has come to be a practical problem in front of the management staff.Therefore, it is practical and valuable to research and develop a wide-applied IP network fault inspecting system.This thesis aims at deep research of IP network fault inspecting methed based on simple network management protocol (SNMP) and IETF's RFC.A distributed inspecting system with such function is provided. Some items will be discussed here. They are in turn: theory of network management; method of network fault inspecting; algorithm of network fault locating; method of network diagnosing.Then according to the process of IP network fault inspecting, this thesis introduces implementation of network management functions in different phase of management. In fault detection, detection agent captures abundant information about network situation. After obtained information, detection agent deals with such information, including aggregation of packet information and dynamic isolation of fault symptoms. Following fault detection, location and diagnosis agent is spurring to initialization. Fault location process is based on distributed System-Level-Diagnosis (DSD) algorithm. Many location and diagnosis agents cooperate as System-Level-Diagnosis algorithm directed in order to find the malfunction element. The author proposes a test algorithm based on Adaptive DSD (ADSD) algorithm. The proposed algorithm improves ADSD algorithm on aspect of diagnosis latency. Diagnosing of the fault element tells the type and reason of fault. The author sums up rules of fault types corresponding to fault symptoms.
