Design And Application Of The Information System In College Journal Management

In modern society, with the booming of knowledge economy and the great development of information technology, people deeply feel that computer and the web technology are modifying the style of our life and work at a rapid speed, college journal is not an exception. It should use computers and web communication equipment as tools to provide different information through different ways by collecting, processing, storing and transmitting all kinds of journal's data. Compared with other management information system, it shares some common places such as system specialization, basic function, it's capacity to enlarge and connection. However, it has it's own features such as large information, data's complexity, strict method to deal with data, high demand in data's reality and correctness and with the function of searching information. The system employ advanced Powerbuilder 8.0 as it's prior software exploit tool, Access as it's backstage data base, Windows 2000 Chinese as it's environment to exploit, test and move. In the designing, the MIS data was divided into groups according to it's general design and different function: (1) Basic Information. It includes: brief introduction to the journal, brief principle of collecting, introduction to editors, inquiry of relative norms, document management and preview to publication. (2) Design planned information. It includes: yearly plan, journal plan and long run plan.(3) Assisted decision information.
