As modern management measure, monitor system for power and environment have been widely used in tele-communication machine rooms and stations by those top service providers. Network building techniques of conventional monitor system utilize data collector to transfer data through RS232 serial into DDN, connecting DTU in monitor center with terminal server in local monitor center, consequently make DTU reach Ethernet by network transmission media which typically is 10Base2 or 10BaseT. This monitor method is characterized by its multiple content, large data, high real time performance of control and structural stability in supervision, thereby turns out an optimal performance. However, its large resources occupying leads to a high overall cost. As the development of communication network and the diversification of communication station, traditional and simple supervision network topology could not ever meet the requirements; integrated monitor system for power and environment provided with multiple monitor mode has inevitably becoming an enterprise's development trend.This paper is intended for discussing network topology, principle and characteristic on conventional network-building techniques for integrated monitor system for power and environment, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of conventional network topology from structure stability, data volume, maintainability and investment etc., comprehensively considered factors such as completeness, usability and maintainability of contents aiming at different types of station's monitor demand, ultimately successful finish the design of 2M timeslot multiplexing network-building mode based on characteristics such as few monitor data volume through access net and correspondingly changeless site, has the ability of providing a 2M link interface and so on.
