Research On Scalable Technologies And Mechanisms For AVS DRM

With the widespread infusion of digital technologies and the ensuing ease of digital content transport over the Internet, Digital rights management (DRM) of multimedia data have therefore become of critical concern. DRM involves not only the technical means such as the encryption of digital content, but also some related management measures such as the establishment of trust and patent systems.Based on AVS-DRM, this thesis focuses mainly on the scalable AVS DRM tech-nologies and mechanisms from both the technical and management viewpoints: In the technical side, the thesis analyzes the DRM requirements in both broadcasting and IPTV domains from the market and technical viewpoints, then proposes a scalable AVS audio encryption and decryption method, and finally implements two AVS audio DRM pack-aging approaches and an AVS trusted coder/decoder; In the management side, the thesis analyzes the current patent distribution in DRM domain and describes a scalable patent pool strategy. Currently, the proposed scalable AVS audio encryption approach has been accepted by AVS-DRM FCD.
