The Research And Implementation Of WebService Based Heterogeneous Data Collection And Distribution Platform

The Database technology had been developing for several decade and had a wide range of application from last 60's. Today, there are a lot of heterogeneous data exist in different storage form and relied on different kinds of Database Management System from then. The sharing and interconnection between these huge number of different location and storage form data become very difficult and then these heterogeneous system become the isolated island of information.This paper research the developing of WebService and heterogeneous database and built a WebService-based data collection and distribution platform with XML technology of data switching and J2EE framework. It integrated the distributed heterogeneous database into a virtual huge dataware and constructed and global view without disturbing other database' s working. The user will feel they are using a unique database and then they can access the heterogeneous transparently. The user can query, explore and download their needed data from heterogeneous and support the senior service such as decision supporting, data statistics to senior users.1. This system builds a WebService-based GUI to make client side none of maintaining.2. Using live distribute and heterogeneous database to collect data in them and to make it transparent, it can promote the using efficiency and save cost of storage and transporting.3. Using the XML to be the middle format for heterogeneous database and make the mapping between XML and Relation-Database pattern possible, then distribute the data of unified format using the DataMerging technology.4. To supply various service such as exploring, querying and some senior service like decision and data statistics using SOAP technology except Web.5. User can register the new heterogeneous database.
