The demands of high data rate communication are increased with the application of internet and multimedia in the next generation of mobile communication and the development of other relative service. However, due to the limited available wireless frequency resource, high data rate communication can only be achieved in virtue of efficiency signal processing technique. The multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology is an important breakthrough in the area of wireless communication. Being the key technology of new generation mobile communication systems, it can be used to improved the capacity, error probability and frequency efficiency significantly without extra frequency bandwidths and transimited power. Space-Time coding technology based on MIMO systems has powerful ability to exterminate multi-path fading, so it can improve the performance of communication. Currently, Space-time coding can be divided into three kinds: layered space-time coding, space-time trellis coding (STTC) and space-time block coding (STBC). Among them, STBC becomes the widest researched and implied coding scheme in space-time codes, because it has the advantage of the simple construction, low decoding complexity and good performance. This paper mainly deals with the performance of STBC over different fading channels. Using the probability density function of the SNR on the receiving antennas, closed-form symbol error probability is given for MPSK and MQAM modulation. Rayleigh, Ricean, Nakagami-m, correlated Nakagami-m and Nakagami-m keyhole fading channels are considered. In addition, the computer generation method of RVs is discussed which is very important in the wireless communication simulation. In this paper, Matlab is used to simulate the whole communication process with the simulation results given to testify the theory results. Also, in the 6th chapter of this...
