In this paper, the impedance, noise and attenuation characteristics of middle-voltage power line channel are researched chiefly, and then the noise and attenuation characteristics of power line channel are modeled. First, have analyzed the middle-voltage power line of structure characteristic, and giving the experiment that the data measures out. Second, impedance, noise and attenuation middle-voltage power line are analyzed detailed based on the experiment data, and summing up their characteristic. Third, from the analyzes to the impedance, noise and attenuation of two types middle-voltage channel giving similarities and differences of them,and obtained a frequency range of data communications. Finally, having a research on the noise and attenuation modeling of middle-voltage power line channel: first, building a noise model according to classifying and having given one kind of noise model base on Markov process; and then three kinds of modeling method on attenuation have been researched, and have done analysis and comparison to them.
