Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) has the capability of image formation with all-weather and all-time ability as well as high resolution. It is a sort of important air-to-surface observation instrument.Scientists eyed on the bistatic SAR (Bi-SAR) more and more in the recent years because of its specific features. The transmitter and receiver are separated on different platforms, with probably different spatial positions and velocities. Bistatic SAR is the typical distributed SAR system, as well as the basic model of which, so it is the"sally port"to start the research and development of distributed SAR system. Bistatic SAR or distributed SAR has the advantages of additional information about the target, flexible antenna pointing, strong ability of anti-interference, reduced vulnerability and increased RCS. In military systems, Bistatic SAR has more comprehensive purposes for its mobility and shelter capability.
