Design And Implementation Of Campus Anti-Spam Email System

With the development and popularization of Internet, Email becomes one of the most convenient and economic communication methods. Apart from the convenient it brings to people, a new problem has arisen, the emergence of spam mail. Due to occupying amount of transferring, storing and computing resources, spams not only greately influence our common life, but also spread bad information which does a lot of harm to the society.This paper analyzed the protocols and format of internet message, studied the email technology, pointed out the disadvantages of SMTP protocol,compared main methods handling with spam. In according to the characteristics of campus email system, we designed the email system with anti virus and anti spam function. At last, we gived the implementation of the system based on open source softwares, and described how we select the file system, MTA software, anti spam and anti virus modules.
