Abstract/Summary:
Recently, robots are becoming more powerful, with more sensors, more intelligence, and cheaper components. As a result, robots are moving out of traditional industrial environments and into service environments. Robots are complex machines and significant technical knowledge and skills are needed to control them. With the vast and rapid expansion of robot applications in various fields, most of the users of these robots are not experts in robotics, and they expect to operate robots without too much training. These factors restrict the use of robots. There is a need to develop programming systems that in line with users'requirements. The strongest trend is the addition of intelligence to programming systems to remove some of the burden from the programmer, so ordinary users can easily create robot programs.Based on the latest research of Psychology, cognitive science, we develop an object-oriented robot imitation programming model which uses object centered knowledge architecture. The imitation-based robot programming system describes the information exchange between the three phases in imitation: observation, description and reproduction.
