With the increase in global competition, the"make-to-order"mode has become a major production model in the 21st Century for manufacturing with multi-products and small size of orders. To be a winner, the advanced planning and scheduling has been one of the most critical issues to improve business performance through better production and management for any manufacturing enterprise.The optimal production scheduling being is the core in production and operational management to maximize business performance with high efficiency and low production costs. Consequently, the research and the development of advanced planning and scheduling has been an attractive subject in academic and industrial communities.This thesis begins with an introduction to the concept, characteristics, objectives and critical positions of job-shop scheduling systems.
