With the development of Internet and wireless devices, more attention is paid to the application and security problem of Mobile IP. In Mobile IP, the security of authentication and registration is very important. This dissertation focuses on the security of the registration in Mobile IP to assure the security of the users'information and the registration messages.The origination and development of Mobile IP are introduced in the dissertation. A study of the work principle in Mobile IP is made, and the character of security is analyzed. The familiar attack modes possibly suffered in Mobile IP are summarized.Based on ID-based cryptography system, a new protocol for registration in Mobile IP based on random numbers is proposed. With the random numbers produced by entities, the session keys can be calculated without transmitting the session keys in the wireless net, and thus the secure distribution of the session keys between Mobile Node,Foreign Agent and Home Agent can be realized. At the same time, by using the public-key algorithm, the security of the protocol is enhanced.Through the analysis of two proposed registration protocols in Mobile IP, the security leaks are pointed out and the schemes are developed with higher security. The schemes can be more robust against the attacks.
