Radar Fault Detection and Isolation (RFDI) system based on the Expert System (ES) is applied to isolate and fix faults for radar. Beside that, it contains large amount of information about the radar system, diagnosis and use of this software. Administrators or testing-engineers are easy to querying this information.Previously, the expert system software architectures of RFDI are different, such as the ideas, schemes, the types and designers of the radar, so there are many series of the software architecture, which make them unpopular, costly and wasting. At the same time, these architectures are difficultly maintained and upgraded.Owing to those shortcomings of stereotypic software architecture, this paper designs a popular software architecture using Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Rational Unified Process (RUP). This architecture makes the software modularized and systematic, so this system becomes more and more universal, standardized and dependant.
